I did an experiment for my biology class and I need to know why the water acted the way it did. I put sugar water in a dialysis tube. Then I placed a drinking straw in the tube and tied it off. Then I suspended the tube in a glass of plain tap water. I then proceeded to watch the sugar water gradually fill the straw. If someone can tell me why it happened, that'd be great! Thanks!
