Bimota Anyone??

Confederate,

There's nothing wrong with a stacked headlight but it just depends on the aesthetics of what you're looking at and a matter of one's personal taste. For many, I'm sure the 999 and the Bimota might be beautiful bikes-they just don't ring my bell.

And I love the 60's GTOs and their stacked headlight look, too. Then again, you did say GTO. Aside from the ones based on the mid-to-late 70s Ventura platform, that's one hell of a car!

Finally, if one is looking to become part of an exclusive club that actually is affordable, I have only one word: Benelli.

Hand built/ hand made exotica costs $$.

Bimota Claims:12kg lighter than a 1098, 10kg lighter than a fireblade & 2kg heavier than a CBR600RR.the motor is 12mm higher and 8mm further forward in the frame (for what it's worth)GP quality brakesMarzocchi forks, Extreme tech shockSame hp but improved midrange because of the use of a Walpro ECU with Bimotas fuel & timing mapsZard exhaustThe entire rear subframe is carbon fibre (wow)

I see. Thanks dude.

I would pay maybe 20k instead of 15 for the exotic/unique factor, but 40? No thanks.

I saw a Tesi 3D today at eurosport cycle in Dallas. They are quite fun to look at, I wonder how they ride.

The word "insane" might be appropriately used to describe someone who'd pay $40k for a Bimota. I hate to say it, but I just don't see it. But then again, if you've got that kind of money to burn I guess you just don't care.

Ahh, but $40k can get you some sweet sports cars in the used car world...and you can probably still drop down some cake for a nice 1098, 848, or something like a SC1000.

Wait...maybe I'm the crazy one. You can buy a condo in my hometown in Ohio for $40k, LOL. But then you're stuck in Ohio.

If I had the money (in my dreams) I'd wait for a Vyrus powered by a 1098 motor, or the R motor - I wouldn't mind

Apparently they're a bit different to ride. The front doesn't dive under braking, can brake a lot later into corners

Unless someone like the chinese for Benelli or HD for MV comes along and gets them out of the hole, they'll be extinct soon, Bimota has had a foot in the grave for a very long time. Great design, but not a very selling brand, I read that the vyrus is built from a company wich Bimota owed money to so they turned these bikes into a full customs and selling them as numbered bikes because they only have so many sitting there.
