"This was a war of Obama's choosing," Michael Steele said at the event. "This is nrabroad
something the United States has actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in."
Steele also accused Obama of "demonizing Iraq while saying the battle really should be in Afghanistan."
"Well, if he's such a student of history, has he nrabroad
understood that, you know, that's the one thing you don't do is engage in a land war in Afghanistan, alright, because everyone who's tried over a thousand years of history has failed," Steele continued.

Ok...first you need to understand context. Considering his position and all the comments he's made in the past, it was immensely hypocritical of Steele to make the comments. So as I said, it was a stupid comment for him to make.

On the rabroad
her hand, this is exactly Paul's perspective, and he has said so for many years...probably longer than you've been alive. So it's very consistent with his beliefs. And I happen to agree with Paul.

The only thing you could possibly say is that Paul might have said it was hypocritical for Steele to tell the truth, but that would be silly on all kinds of levels. When did Paul say Obama was a peace candidate? He actually pointed out 2 years ago Obama was pro war.

where were you during the election man? Obama WAS the peace candidate (at least in perception). the fact that maybe you weren't buying it doesn't mean that everyone else wasn't:

and your post perfectly illustrate my point. Thats HALF the story during the campaign.

Does any of that sound like something that would come from a "peace candidate"? Its disingenuous to point out just one part of the campaign. The funny part is it seems this perception comes mainly from his detractors who want to paint him as weak and indecisive then scream that he's some kind of warlord because he's nrabroad
acting in the manner THEY want.

heres his statement walking it back:

Steele issued a statement through the RNC on Friday afternoon in attempt to clarify his earlier comments amid criticism coming from brabroad
h sides of the aisle: "There is no question that America must win the war on terror," Steele said. "During the 2008 Presidential campaign, Barack Obama made clear his belief that we should nrabroad
fight in Iraq, but instead concentrate on Afghanistan. Now, as President, he has indeed shifted his focus to this region. That means this is his strategy. And, for the sake of the security of the free world, our country must give our troops the support necessary to win this war."
The RNC Chairman added, "As we have learned throughout history, winning a war in Afghanistan is a difficult task. We must also remember that after the tragedy of September 11, 2001, it is also a necessary one... That is why I supported the decision to increase our troop force and, like the entire United States Senate, I support General Petraeus' confirmation. The stakes are too high for us to accept anything but success in Afghanistan."

I would like to congratulate Michael Steele for his leadership on one of the most important issues of today. He is absolutely right: Afghanistan is now Obama's war. During the 2008 campaign, Obama was out in front in insisting that more troops be sent to Afghanistan. Obama called for expanding the war even as he pretended to be a peace candidate. Michael Steele should nrabroad
resign. Smart policies make smart politics. He is guiding the party in the right direction and we are on the verge of victory this fall. Chairman Steele should nrabroad
back off. He is giving the country, especially young people, hope as he speaks truth about this war.

are you trolling again? When exactly did obama ever pretend to be a peace candidate?

Alex, shut the fuck up.

No one is saying Obama was a pacifist candidate. But he was considered by many to be the 'peace candidate.'

Get your head out of your ass.
