Bill Gates sees the Nintendo Wii as their toughest competition?!?!?!?

Don't get your panties in a bunch. The wii's games out right now got boring real quick and theres only a few games that I'm excited about. Tigerwoods, ssbm, and mario galaxy.
 
Its interesting to note that the 360 sold over a million units this holiday season @ 399. You can assume that a 399 price point is comfortable with today's people. So if Sony drops the PS3 to 399 for the premium (base more likely), its safe to say that they can move quite a bit of units. Possibly, even more than what the 360 moved this past year.

Of course this is all speculation and there will be a lot of MS fanboys screaming at me, calling me a liar and gay for speaking such truthes.
 
sure they would sell more if the price dropped, but they would also lose like 400 bucks per system. not a great business plan if you ask me
 
the problem is that I don't foresee a price drop for a long time coming and certainly not with the current loss that Sony is seeing per unit. Best you can hope for is the 20GB version to drop that low.

However from my understanding the 20GB at 500 is pretty comparable to what you're seeing from the 360 if you buy the wireless adapter.
 
If they move 6 million units by the end of the first quarter of 2007, then you can bet that the manufacturing costs are going to dip pretty quickly. It makes sense to me.

On top of that, the 20 gig setup is still a great buy for $499.
 
based on those side by side comparison charts the 20GB is pretty much what you get if you buy the 360 and the wireless adapter and in that case the 20GB is still actually better because it'd be the BluRay while the 360 wouldn't have the HD DVD etc etc. But like the 360 core system everyone is hung up screaming that the 20GB is so much inferior to the 60 and nobody should ever buy one
 
Probably highest competition in terms of reaching out to non gamers and casual gamers and getting them to buy their system.

He was also probably taking a stab at Sony
 
i want an xbox 360... my original xbox got more play than anyother system ever besides my regular nintendo and sega genesis... That being said, I would also like to own a wii and a ps3... I can wait for that ps3 though. After the ps2, I don't really think I would like to waste time and effort on another sony system. I thought I really wanted one, but I think I would be happier paying 400 for the xbox 360 and 250 for the wii and have 650 dollars in systems compared to paying 600 for the ps3...

Thats just my own oppinion. though, i can't blame people for buying the ps3, looks pretty fun to me.
