Biking a Good Way To Lose Weight?

I bike all the time. From flat surfaces to up and down hill. Usually I bike from my home to the local bike store. It is about 3.5km away. I always rush there traveling at an average of 35km/h on my bicycle. Will this be a good way for me to lose weight if I were to do this everyday? if not, then how much should I bike in order to actually have a weight loss effect?

Oh yea, I'm a street biker. I speed through curbs, jump rocks and go off road...at extremely high speeds. I look like I'm always in a rush, but that's how I usually bike.

Yes, any exercise will help you lose weight if you eat right and keep doing it for your whole life. And remember you want to be healthy and strong not skinny.

Not to be a joy kill, but from personal experience I have found that biking miles on end doesn't necessarily mean you'll lose weight. It usually builds an extreme amount of muscle on your quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes & calves.

Good luck :)
