Bikes that have removable wheels?

I was watching the show Mental and the guy rides his bike everywhere, but he takes the wheel off. Can you do that with any bike or do you have to buy a certain type of bike?
If so, what kind of bike?
 
Better quality bikes always have quick release wheels (some exceptions for downhill race bikes). These bike start at 350.00 on sale. Makes it easy to fix a flat, or take the wheels off to put the bike in the trunk.
