Bike riding v.s. Running?

Hey Iv been biking for a bit now and I usually bike about 35miles a day. and on the weekends and events I do 60-100miles.

I also lift weight and my gym Buddy's tell me running is a better way to exercise... I never have really liked running because I can usually only do about 3 miles and that doesn't get me anywhere.

How does running, 3-6 miles compare to biking 35-40 a day (i bike all over so there is variety in terrain and If I run I also do it out side)
