Bike Headset Grip is Stripped?

The section of the bike where the bike handles / headset (whatever you call it) are connected to the bike body, the metal grip that interlocks the two segments has stripped. I'm searching for a quick / cheap, but strong fix to this problem. My dad had tried placing duct tape within it, as a possible form of resistance / less room to tighten, but it did not succeed.


P.S.

I've already tried tightening, and as stated, it is stripped.
Might I add, it is irremovable.
