I am wondering about the rules of bike's when someone is walking on the sidewalk and a bicyclist is coming straight toward them , do you stay on the sidewalk or try to move to the grass....just got screamed at this morning for trying to be polite but not too sure what's the correct way to handle this...I am wondering does anyone know any rules or etiquette that is a given for bicyclist......like does the person walking have the right away?? All help appreciated....

I was really in shock..I had my little 3 year old with me also. Very disturbing........we didn't really know which way to go as he was riding very fast with all of his bicycle gear on....obviously he was into his sport...but for future reference I just wanted to know what to do next time...thanks so much for your post.
