Bicycle powered electric generator?

I live in the central U.S and as you can imagine we get tornado's and most of the time they are not that awful like you see in the movies. However, they have been known to knock out power for a while. Last time this happened I had no power for 2 weeks. So I need a bicycle generator when the time comes. I need one that can power nessicities of a house which is mostly stove, lights, and etc. Please and Thank you.
 
Bicycle power generation will not produce enough power to do what you want. For about $400 you can buy a small generator to power computers and/or TV. For $15 you can buy an oil-powered hurricane lamp to provide light. For about $100 you can buy a portable gas or paraffin heater. These are far more suitable solutions for the same cost as what you propose.

I always would like to have done this myself. I was going to put a 12 vote alternator where the back wheel goes and use it to charge a 12 vote battery and then have power converter to change 12 votes to 110 votes to run certain necessity's. Good luck and let me know.
