I need to change the final speed of a 2hp dc motor. Would a bicycle chain, gears and bearings hold up to 1000-2000 rpm and 2hp of torque? The motor came off a treadmill, so it adjusts speed slowly due to the speed controller and decent flywheel(not sudden jerks!). If not, what would you suggest that's ubiquitous and inexpensive?
