bicycle crunch question?

I have been doing my own variation of the bicycle crunch for a few days now and was wondering if it is ok to do it this way, I do not extend my other leg when making my elbow touch my knee, I still feel the burn but I was wondering if it will still be effective in the long run?

Do you really thing cycling is a category for doing "bicycle crunch" exercises?

That's right up there with the woman who thought this was for menstrual cycles.
