BEV Signal Strength on 82 and 91

We have intermittent problems with the HD channels.

I have been checking signal strengths on 82 and I am
almost always between 52 to 65 max.

91 is around the range of 65-75.

This is a dish from BC.

Can anyone enlighten me on if these numbers are more or less right
and what they should be?

Since I doubt it, it can be corrected by re-adjusting the dish again?
 
Without checking every transponer 91 is between 75-95 and 82 is between 80-95.

You are very low. I have heard out west you may need a 24" dish to pick up a better signal.
 
Your levels do sound a little low (Unless the weather is bad/raining now)
It's tricky to peak it, if you don't know what you are doing
How long ago was it installed
You do get a 3 month warranty on the installation
If you want to try it yourself, you will only have to move it slightly, so don't change the elevation,skew,azimuth too much, or you will have no signal
 
Thanks. I'm going to call the installer so I don't screw it up.

Last night (Saturday) the HD 82 signal was either off completely or around 50%.

Today (Sunday) it's back but around 50% again.

I'll keep an eye out for who else has a larger dish but 99% seem to have
the standard BEV etc size dish - which makes me think that either they put
up with awful reception or my system is screwy.....

Two more stupid questions...

1) Since I do not believe that I have ever had even 80% on HD, is this because I am in BC?

2) Where does one find a larger dish say 24" like mentioned, and will I have to re-purchase the two receptors or whatever they are called (LNB's?) to
attach to the larger dish.

You have Anik envy, good for you, a far superior satellite fleet operating at full power and delivers superior rain fade resistant low compression linear signals, but for the other guys!

Alas, you are stuck with the near death Nimiq fleet that your provider props up and fends off the DNR orders by Frankensteining derelict DirectTV birds.

You might wish to comment on your location and dish sizes to put your excellent graphs into context.
 
I get higher signal levels by using 2 x 18" Dish's than the standard 20" Dish that is being installed.
 
I tried 18" dish for 82 and found some transponders better and some worse.

I haven't tried it for 91.

I have been running a DPP twin and found I get much better signal strength by running 2 DP lnb's instead. Most transponders increase by 5 or more %.
