Does anyone know if there are 5x8 multiswitches available and compatable with bev receivers. I'm trying to hook up two 3100's, one HD 6000 and one HD PVR 9200. Currently, I have four cables coming into the house connected to a SW44.

Why can't you just use a splitter to run both tuners in the 9200?? I know, stupid question, but I've been told there are no stupid questions...

Thanks

There is no such switch but there are ways to hook up more than 4 receivers. The issue has been discussed ad nauseum in other threads and is in the installations threads. Please look there.

Of all the 5x8 Switch's I tested when working for them, none worked well enough to actuall use at a Customers house. The Spaun was the best but still had issues with 9200's.

You have several options but cheapest is the official Express Vu way of splitting ALL 4 feeds before the SW44 and hooking up 2 SW44's.

Better and more stable is using an SW34 on each LNBF's feeds, then feeding 2 x SW44's.

Easiest but not supported way is to get an SW44a.

PM, me if you need more specific help that is not covered in the Forums.

It can be done, But you will probably have to change the equipment a little.

What I would do, and there may be other ways, is to go one Ebay and get a DPP LNB and a 2 DPP separators and a DPP44 switch. Replace the BEV LNB's with the DPP LNB. Hook up the lines just as you have them now into the DPP44. 2 of the 4 switch ports on the DPP44 go to the 9200's. Just before the 9200, use the DPP separator to split the signal into two lines for the 9200. You feed the other receivers from the receiver ports on the DPP44 switch.

Like I said there may be other ways to do it, but I don't know if BEV officially has a way of doing it. BEV does not support DPP technology, but it works. Hopefully, Nimiq1 will post here as well. He is more knowledgeable in this and may have a better solution.

Good Luck!

Looks like we were answering you at the same time! LOL

I am trying to stick with the Standard Legacy answers willise, as sometimes the extra expense of DP/DPP is very off putting, even though it is the better way to go.

That's the setup I have.
An SW44a cascading in a SW44 to provide 8 outputs.
Never had a problem.

Thanks everyone......Last question is do you know where I can get a SW34?

Happy New Year......

Almost any smal electronics store.

If you fancy a short drive there is a store on Matheson Blvd @ Dixie in Mississauga, they will be cheap there RTC Electronics.
