I know both cops and military form very close bonds especially due to the dangerous nature of their work. I've heard both sides say they become a family. Plus there's the factor that many former military people end up becoming cops. But I was just wondering which people felt had the tightest bonds. I know it doesn't matter since both ultimately are close, just curious what people thought.
Some people have told me that military are closer just because they often have a more 24/7 feel with an entire lifestyle built on it and especially because depending on the branch, they may be gone for a year or so on a deployment together away from everyone else. Others say police because they also have a lifestyle built around it and a certain way of thinking plus they're more likely to build it into a long career (and even stay with the same department that whole career) instead of only doing one or two tour enlistments like many in the military do before moving on (hence many military going on to police work).
