Better to go into the store?

Hi, my contract just ran out with Helio (which is now virgin of course.) anyway.. i called them to just bump down to a $29 no contract plan.. and was told that my Ocean can't be used on the cheap plans.. but they will gladly send me some $20 turd of a phone, not that the ocean was great.. but come on...

So basically im looking for a new provider, what i was curious about is if you will get a better deal on phones going into a store, or just do it online?

Am trying to find the cheapest plan with 400 mins and bout 500 txts a month.. i dont use my phone alot but don't want something horrible either:)
 
I suggest going into a store, and inquiring in person. Also, check online, as some providers run online only specials. Check Best Buy also, they tend to run some good deals.

Be sure to pick a provider that offers good coverage in your area of usage.
 
Went into a verizon and a sprint store, nothing really got me goin:( although i love the blackberrys i played with...

Ended up just dropping to a lower plan with virgin and keeping my helio ocean... been a good phone for 2 years.. hope it keeps goin.:)
