Better range on a nokia N70?

I have a nokia N70 that I bought unlocked and am using my cingular service on now. I realized that I would have bad reception in alot of places. I read its because my "band", I was wondering if anyone knows any methods of tweaking the phone for better reception. Or would I need to get a backup phone for those no signal areas.
 
chances are, your area uses 850MHz Band, in which case the n70 does not support, and there is no way to add it. The only way to get better reception is to buy a new phone that is either tri-band 850/1800/1900 OR buy a quad-band phone that has 850/900/1800/1900.
