My betta has had ich and i've been treating him for it using aquarium salt and warm water. Then I switched to using Kordon Rid Ich medication (same dose everday, doing a small water change before each one and it is half the recommened dose).
It appears to be working, but every now and then he will flush his gills or rub himself on a plant. I've only seen this happen after I put the medication in. Other than that he acts happy and the ich is slowly dissapearing.
Is this just a reaction to the ich moving on him and dying or could it be the medication? Because today after I did the water change and added the medication again, he went up to the surface to get air a couple times and flushed his gills.
Is this anything to worry over?
I don't know if I should stop using the medicine because it says to completely rid the ich, use 3 days more after the ich is gone. I can still see some ich on him and today is the 4th day of using the medicine.
Sorry for the many questions and thank you.
Also, is it normal for his ventral fins to be clamped while he's getting better from ich?
Because I'm taking great care in keeping him unstressed, his tank has live plants and everything is safe, though he can see his reflection on the corners.
If this helps, I use a sponge to make the current calmer in his tank, but with the medication I let it run more freely.
