Betta Fish feeding????? Help me!!!!!!!!!!111?

I recently bought a Betta fish and I wondering about how often I should feed it. On the box from the store it says three to four times a week. But online it says 1 or 2 times a day. Also I was wonderin if I could but regular plastic/ glass pebbles from the store at the bottom of my Fish's tank.
 
I feed mine once a day with Beta food. Putting decorations in your tank is fine as long as they are meant for fish tanks, or are like the glass beads you would put in the bottom of a flower vase.
