Betta Fish- Changing colors?

I have a Betta, who is about 2 or 3 years old named One Fish. He's always been navy blue, but now his tail is turning red..

Is this something that happens with age, or something to worry about?
 
Congrats on having an old man betta!!!!!!!

I think that his colouring change is happening due to his older age. Poor old guy!!! Just keep him happy and comfortable!

If your betta is a marble colouration then it could be just that marble gene taking effect.
My marble crowntail was bright maroon and white when I bought him, he's now almost jet black with a white face. And he went through a blue phase as well as an orange phase.
