Betta fish and Neron treata?

Today I was looking at my 10 gallon fish tank with filter air pump and heater and the small neron's were messing with my betta fish back tail like they were biting it off by small buy small. The petsmart fish dept said they both will be fine, I'm confused what the heck should I do?

Sometimes Neons are entirely peaceful and won't go near the Betta, sometimes they'll become horrendous fin nippers, sadly you've got the latter. I would return them to Petsmart, tell them they were wrong and your Betta is suffering.

Do you mean Neon Tetra? If so, i wouldn't put anymore in the tank. My betta's attacked them before, and one of my friends who conveniently works at a fish shop said that betta's can attack them because they're shiny and they sparkle, much like another betta when he flairs.
