I am new to this thread and hope somebody can help me feel better about weaning myself from my suboxone...I am so scared about what I am going to go through..I start a new job on monday and Im hoping it does not interfere with my work...here is the dosage my doctor has me on to get me off of these pills: 2 tablets of 2mg pills am/pm then 1 and 1/2 tabs 2x a day for 5 days, then 1 tab 2x a day for 5 days, then 1/2 tab 2x a day for 5 days then 1/2 tab every am for 5 days then stop. Does this sound like a good regiman? I am so nervous because of some of the threaRAB I have been reading...Can anybody please give me some good news?? I would really appreciate some feedback! Thank you!

Scared to death!

Bobbie: I can tell you what MY experience was like when I got off suboxone. I was addicted to vicodin for 10 years and took up to 50 pills a day. Then started suboxone when it first came out in 2003 and I just got off suboxone in March 2009 so I was on it ALONG time! The first DR I had ....well that DR had me on 32mg for 5 years! Then I stopped seeing that DR and went to another DR who said I will tapper you off. Well 2 years later this doctor told me you will be off by March. BUT..and this is a big but....he stopped me at 2mg! That is pretty high if you ask me and thats why I went through pure HELL! If you get tappered right and it sounRAB like your DR is going to tapper you nice and slow then you should be ok. I was told my DR should have had me go from 2mg to 1mg then .75mg then .50mg and so on. But to just stop someone at 2mg after years of being on it...is not right. I had withdrawals for 31 days. I had leg and arm twitches that were out of control, I had NO sleep at all, bones and body aches very bad, lost 40 pounRAB from going to the bathroom didnt eat no energy tried to take hot baths to help with the twitches....just a zorabie really. BUT with the way your doing it nice and slow I have read where people hardly experience any kind of bad withdrawals like I did. Maybe some restless nights but nothing real bad! I went to the ER 8 times in a month and they gave me a Clonodine patch to help with the withdrawals. If you have any questions ask away and if I can I will help. Make sure you are ready to come off it and as long as you go nice and slow you should be fine. Good luck and you will be fine!!! :)

Bobbie, just wondering if you've started your taper yet, and how you're doing. Stop in and let us know how it's going, ok? :)
