Best way to wash a leather jacket?

Hi,

Just wondering what the best way is to wash/clean a leather jacket without ruining it?

Is dry-cleaning best?

This is my first actual leather jacket and as such quite expensive, no wish to ruin it!

You need to take it some where that specializes in cleaning leather. Ask at at dry cleaning place they may be able to do it or may know of some where that does. You do not wash or dry clean leather. And the process that is used may change the color of the leather, so unless it really needs to be clean, like you got something on it that stained it, I would not get it cleaned. Just wipe it off with a clean cloth and a mild soap, like dish washing detergent then with clean water. Do not get it soaking wet, the leather will stretch.

Being that this is an expensive Jacket you might want to take it to a cleaners that specializes in Leather. That way you will know that your jacket will get good care.
