I currently weigh 147-150 pounds or so, at 6 foot tall and 17 years old.
I'd like to weigh around 165-170 when i deploy for basic training for the Marine Corps and was wondering how I should manage this?
I can...
1) Eat lots of trail mix and peanuts and such to gain weight quickly and then maintain once i get there...
2) ...Well...I dont know another way.
So im looking for anyone who has been in the Marine Corps recently to tell me what weight i should be, from personal opinion, not statistics (I.E. 140 lbs min, 202 lbs Max)

Also, is it possible for me to gain weight too quick?
I work out and eat very healthy so weight gain is sort of hard but possible, anything to help is appreciated!
Thanks

Eat a lot! Eat more than what you eat now. Eat only good calories. Pizza may be good, but sweets and candy and that crap is filled with nutrition-less calories that do your body only harm.

Make sure you are getting the basic four food groups, and focus on a high-protein diet. If you have a job, or generous parents, you can purchase some whey-protein from your local nutrition/grocery store and mix that in with a glass of milk or water each day or after each workout.

Eat lots of meat. Hamburger helper is great with the ground beef. Mix with mac and cheese for different taste. Meats are great for building muscle.

You can strength train all the time, but if you don't eat more, you will only become stronger. Your body can only gain weight when you give it more food. What you do with your body and that food determines if your muscular or fat. Skinny people don't eat much, that's why they're skinny.

here's an old bodybuilding trick to gain weight.
mix half and half or whole milk with your favorite soda.
liquid calories are easier to take in than extra food.
yes. you definitely can gain to quickly.
you didn't say how long til basic.
500extra calories a day puts on about 1lb a week.
so you do the math. how many more calories do you need to take in to gain what you want before time for basic.
