Last year I graduated with my masters, but did not have a job. I did sell $8000 worth of things on ebay/craigslist and want to report it to the IRS to get the EITC. I didn't have a "business" but I do not know how to property report this income or where to list it. If I list it as a "business" then I end up owing the government money, where as if I list it as a "hobby" or "other income" then it isn't earned income meaning I can't get the EITC. And I'm working on Standard Deduction.
