pricing/incentives on Ford GM Mercury? I was recdently laid off and LUCKILY found another job. Only problem is that I am making 1/3 less and need to lower my monthly car payments (currently around $450). I was looking at buying a used Jeep (looking for something sporty/suv"ish") but wondered if I should look into the deals currently offered by Ford, GM and Mercury. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

If you're looking to lower your payments, a used jeep will deffinitely cost less then any sale at Ford/GM/Mercury. However, if you get a new car, then I believe it comes with some form of warrenty, and it will most likely be more reliable.

If you live in the mountains or desert maybe a Jeep. Otherwise, anything but. They're very unreliable.

my local dealer said in the newspaper that if you buy a car now and the auto makers file bankruptcy that they can not honor the warranty because the dealer doesn't know if they will get reimbersed or not.
so how can you get a great deal if you are paying for a warranty that may or may not be good.
something worth discussing with any dealer you buy a car from.
