Best Treatment for whiplash

I went to an amusement park yesterday (a very popular one in the Hershey area...;)), and got on ALL the roller coasters. I am very positive that I have suffered whiplash. I have never in my life suffered from anything like this before. It hurts to even move my head sideways or up and down. It's on the right side only in the back of my head and down my shoulder in the muscle.
What is the best treatment? Heat or ice? Pain relievers? How long will this last??
Thanks in advance!

I prescribe lots of chocolate from the said amusement park's candy outlet.. hehe.. (love that place!)
actually ice will help dull the pain, but heat is what will help relax the muscles. You can either rub a muscle reliever cream on it a few times a day, or use a heating pad of some sort. Ibuprofen or such can help with any swelling. As for how long it will last, it can depend on how well you rest it up and time. It may go away in just a few days or it could last longer. I would see a doctor if it goes longer than a week as they can suggest better ways for it to heal. I also do agree with massage helping..

Thanks for the advice guys! I'm going to try some anti-inflammatories (aleve or ibuprofen) and see what happens. It does feel a little bit better today - not nearly as severe as last night. Last night was BRUTAL! I'm going to borrow my mom's heating pad too!
My last step is more chocolate - :)

Thanks again!
