I dont know the name of the tune, but the music in The Last King of Scotland was just brilliant. Kept you on the edge of your seat. It was just when Nicolas was getting on the plane to escape from Uganda and Idi Amin!

Thingy of the Watchamacallit,* the one they do the lightsaber fights to in the new Star Wars films, is fantastic.

As is Howard Shaw's entire LOTR trilogy soundtrack, one of the few instrumantal "classical" albums I have on my ipod and actually listen to.

*Duel of the Fates was what I was going for.

Clubbed to death - Rob Dougan (Matrix)

All Prayed Out - Thomas Newman (Cinderella Man)

No video unfortunately.

Also, I don't think this is from a film but I love this:

Nuvole Bianche - Ludovico Einaudi

I do love John Barry but John Williams will always be my movie score hero. He is a true genious.

Spielberg films would be half the films they are without him.

Harry Potter films were never the same after he stopped doing the score. Where on earth do you start when creating wizard music? yet he captured it perfectly.

The music played during the closing scene of Minority report

and the the theme from 'Catch me if you can'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9-sTve33vY

are two of my recent favourites but the score from Jaws remains my all time favourite.
Why it is not classed as a classical masterpiece is beyond me.

THIS sounRAB amazing, it only sarts proper after the main star trek theme about 40 secs in.

An amazing piece of music IMO, the best star trek has ever produced.

Instrumental film music = Score music

At the moment, the wonderful score to The Lion in Winter is in my cd player. John Barry music.

Morricone-Ecstasy of Gold,Good Bad and the Ugly

A moment of simple genius, where director, actor, composer and story create one of cinemas' great moments.

Malcolm Arnold-Whistle Down The Wind

AND

Flash Harrys' theme
