Best touring muffler????

Past year on my 08 Ultra, I've been running the Jackpot pipes from Fuel Moto - Together with PCIII - (PCV available) Arlen Ness Big Sucker- Several members in my chapter turned me on to this combo cost +$700 - Send Jamie and email at Fuel Moto- can't go wrong with this company. Superb customer service even after a year Jamie answers my email

I would agree with that. My 09 Ultra is still box stock. I recently got to ride a friends 08 Street Glide with the SE mufflers and Arlen Ness intake. I could not tell any difference in loudness between the two. The SE mufflers were "slightly" deeper in tone but certainly not enough for me to consider spending the money on them.

I subscribed to this thread as I was interested in what everyone might have to say on the subject. I'm also considering what kind of mods I might want to make to the bike but there are so many options that it's hard to make a decision. I'm happy with the performance of the bike as is but wouldn't mind seeing a little more reserve power at freeway speeds although I can live with it the way it is. One thing I absolutely don't want is any significant increase in noise but as has been pointed out, that's very subjective. I wish there was somewhere I could go to listen to all the options out there. That would make it a lot easier!

I don't think the 80 db is accurate. American Iron tested them and they were 93 db with the Supertrapp SE measuring 96 db. Most aftermarket slip ons they tested were over 100 db. I called VH and they told me the Monster Ovals were 3 db more than stock....that would be the same as the Supertrapp SE.
