I have spent the first quarter of my life working on bicycles (the last 5 years professionally), but now, at 22 years old, bicycles just aren't fast enough and I have been interested in motorcycles for some time. I am good with my hands and love to work on machines. I want to get into motorcycle mechanics for a living but I don't know the best route to take. MMI isn't an option because of the cost and the location. I live in Los Angeles and have been considering LATTC's Motorcycle Repair program but I don't know how this industry works and I don't want to spend the time/money on school if it isn't going to do me any good in the real world. Is it better to just show up at a shop and start sweeping floors? Any tips from guys/gals that have already gone through what I have? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
