Best Road Bike with Pannier Rack Fitting?

Hello,

Can people please let me know what the best road bike options with pannier rack fittings is?

I rather get a road bike than a touring bike because i reckon the speed will be better on the road bike and I can also use it for going long journeys.

Thank you for advice and facts.
Touring bikes? will they go faster on the road than my mountain bike? do they have those thin wheels?
 
For going on long journeys with added weight, your typical "road bike" won't cut it. It can't take the weight - period.

For long journeys with panniers & extra clothes, emergency equipment, food , etc. - there is only ONE type of bike to have. A "touring road bike". Many come with rear racks already installed & have the brazed-on "eyelets" to add a front rack. That's why I own one. For long distance riding with added weight - STEAL is REAL.
