Best Resorts for Solo traveler in Florida?

I am planning to get away for a few days in July, I am a 36-year old female traveling solo from NYC. All I want is a nice hotel/resort on the beach somewhere in Florida, where I can just get up every morning, stroll down to the beach and sunbathe in peace all day. Since I will be alone, I would like to have everything I need in terms of food, amenities etc. right at the resort. I don't want to have to leave or travel anywhere in town if I don't have to.

So I'm looking for a peaceful place, preferably with other people my age to chat with, and no screaming children to deal with. I have been researching a lot and can't seem to find what I want. Also not terribly sure of my budget yet - however I think I do want at least a 4-star resort. I just don't want something icky.

My passport is in process of being renewed so I have to stay in the states right now - maybe Virgin Islands would be a possibility as well?

Your suggestions are very much appreciated! I am lost trying to figure this out! Thanks everyone.

Ritz Carlton is very nice as well as the Aqualina Resort there children arent really around and both are on the beach with plenty of options for food and relaxation but they are very expensive as well good luck to you!
