Best Phone for my Teenage Son

OK, I've narrowed this down quite a bit since my last post. Which do you think that people would consider "coolest"?

-LG VX-8500 Chocolate
-LG VX-8600 Chocolate Flip
-LG VX-9900 enV

I am leaning towards the chocolate because it has Chaperone, so I can find out where he is (yeah, a little bit "Big Brother"-ish, but it'd be nice )

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

I'd go for the enV, being a teenager myself, but if you want to give him the Chocolate, go ahead; it's your right as a parent to make the final choice. You'll want to wait for a second opinion, though; I'm not good with Verizon phones (note- the Chocolate looks different in most other countries).

I would go for the chocolate flip...limited annoying touch buttons, nice screens...good looking flip. The enV is ok, but I find it kind've ugly unless someone knows what it is...which means unless your a geek freak like myself it most likely won't be considered a cool phone.

Everyone thinks the chocolate looks coolest. Its all about looks. Kids are all over my SLVR L7 and my friend's VX8500 Chocolate at my school.

Umm, except the whole point of this thread (and this section of the forums) is for people to help the OP in the decision making process by weighing in...if he could pick off that bat, he wouldn't post here.

But he knows way more about what he wants than anyone here. We can only go on what we are told, which may or may not be everything, and in this case, not very much at all. Plus "cool" is only in the eye of the beholder. What you think is really cool, I may hate. I personally don't like any of the 3 choices listed.

Ya, but he wants it for a teenager...and since I am in that category then I can tell him what I would view as cool. He already knows the technical data of these phones, the prices etc. What he doesn't know, and has come here for advice on, is what phone would be the best for his teenage son, and for that he requires OPINIONS. He is not asking for anything but opinions. If he was going to make the decision on his own, he would not have posted here. He wants our opinions, and my reply went no farther than to post my opinion on the matter and my point of view...thats what this section of HowardForums is all about...not just posting links to spec sheets the OP has most likely looked at already. Yes, the decision is ultimitely, of course, his...but if I can help by telling him what I would do (assuming he has asked for the help) then I will.

We have a lot of LG Chocolates coming back with screen and button faults when being used by Teenage Texting fingers...

Kids usually know better about what they want and its not normally what the parent chooses, so might be a good idea to ask him first which he would preffer or if its a secret gift drop it into a conversation say your getting a new phone for yourself...

Edit sorry didnt realise someone else had already suggested asking

Only problem is if it was me and I was a teenager and someone asked me for suggestions I would lie and pick a phone I dont like so they wouldnt get it for themselves and I could get one for myself when I had the money
