Hi,

Can someone please give there opinion on which PDA that uses windows mobile is the best? Is the Palm Treo Pro any good?

thanks,
David

treo's are pretty decent. unfortunately ive only tried out the 650.....so i cant give you a comparison between that and the 750.

just avoid ANYTHING running windows mobile unless its a tablet pc. windows mobile is completely unreliable. it has some great features but its alwats just slapped onto some very horible hardware 99% of the time. For example, the touch diamond.....completely sucked. it has great features but crap hardware.

for business, i would recommend treo 650. the palm OS is pretty nice and doesnt have alot of bugs and is decently built.

I came from a Treo running the Palm OS and am trying out the Omnia using WinMobile 6.1. I am seriously considering going back to the Palm. (I'm hoping Palm and Verizon will announce a new Palm on the 5th!)

Windows is still the Windows of old. Even trying SPB and Winterface the underlying problem is still Windows. Maybe I'll try a BB?

I've used a PalmOS device (first dedicated PDA and now smartphone) for the past 8 years or so. I find the PalmOS platform to be very quick and easy to use. There are also a lot of programs available (both freeware and shareware as well as commercial). I have no probelms recommend a PalmOS device/smartphone but realize that the Palm probably won't have another PalmOS device in the future and that probably due to hardware/software limitations of the PalmOS, none of the PalmOS phones have WiFi and GPS built into the unit.

I've used my Treo 650, Treo 680, and Palm TX with TomTom Navigator by purchasing a bluetooth GPS receiver.

Nokia E71 for keyboard candybar'ish form factor. Samsung Omnia for a full fledged touchscreen PDA.

IMO, its HTC thats fudging up WinMo. NON HTC Windows Mobile devices I've used have performed well. Its usability still needs work, but then again, the same could be said of Palm, Symbian, or Blackberry.

I must be 1 of the lucky ones. I've used nothing but HTC devices for wm & have never had any major issues.
That said I decided it was time for a change & wanted something small & lite with a full qwerty keyboard. So I opted for the Nokia E63. Yes I know it's the lower version E71, but it was cheaper & I don't need gps or 3g. I can say I'm amazed at how fast & responsive it is.
Really is a great device.
