Best Music, TV Division:
The Angry Beavers (Charlie Brissette) - Catching the many in-jokes in Brissette's music is one of my favorite things about the show.
Galaxy High (Don Felder) - Fun and very catchy.
Invader Zim (Kevin Manthei) - I was lucky enough to obtain a promo CD of Manthei's music. The mix of styles, from militaristic to wacky comedy, is impressive.
Kim Possible (Adam Berry) - I really liked the mix of styles here, as well as the various melodies for the villains.
Pretty much anything from WB Animation - Whether the Golden Age of Carl Stalling or the music from the 1990s shows, the use of orchestra is refreshing.
Best Music, Film Division:
The Black Cauldron (Elmer Bernstein) - Rich in catchy themes and motifs and the use of the Ondes Martenot is unparalleled.
The Brave Little Toaster (David Newman) - Among the many highlights, I just love the heartbreaking music for the Toaster in the meadow.
Heavy Metal (Elmer Bernstein) - Very lush and multifaceted. I especially love the 'Green Ball' motif.
The Road to El Dorado (Hans Zimmer & John Powell) - Some of the best work that either composer has done, from the action cues to the appropriately slinky theme for Chel.
The Secret of N.I.M.H. (Jerry Goldsmith) - Absolutely flippin' gorgeous. If you've heard it, I don't need to elaborate.
There's too much from both categories to choose from, but these are some of my favorites.
