90 civic. taken that car with me everywhere but have always took care of it and made sure everything is fine.
as of now, the car has 268,000 miles on it but it runs like it's new. recently done timing belt, fuel filter, new fuel injectors, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, flushed cooling system, added a cold air intake w/ K&N air filter, new hoses, belts and whatnot.
So basically, I haven't spent a lot of money on it, but since I do take road trips often and travel, I do keep it up to date and running well. Oil is changed every 2500 hundred miles rather than 3K miles.
Well, that brings me to my question. i have always used castrol 5W-30 oil in it along with adding the correct amount of the product "sea-foam" before the oil change. it has worked wonders for me.
but with its high mileage, should i switch the oil to something else? or synthetic? What's the advantage of that rather than regular? Will I notice it running better (runs great now - nothing fast but it gets the job done forsure). Just wanna do whats best for the car.
And I live in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona where it is still 100 degrees everyday. On the whether forecast, they are finally starting to expect it to go down below 100 to around 98 next week sometime. So in other words, it's hot as F**K here. If that means anything too.
