Best Motorcycle Movie

Come on people!

FLED with Lawrence Fishburne and Jason Baldwin, the movie was a shameless Ducati (916) promotion, complete with a monologue outside the Ducati showroom by Baldwin spewing how it was the pinacle of all motorcycle performance. The only thing is that with the big chase scene. After ten minutes of riding flat out the Lincon Towncar was still right on his tail.

Also the second Matrix movie, that inspired the 998 Matrix edition and I think it was the second Blade movie where the outside of the vamp bar was all ducks parked out front.

The Italian Job was painful when Seth Green tip toed his 916 era duc up to his buddies and dropped it on the pavement.

Sorry, I thought Biker Boys was so imature it made me feel awkward that I was watching it. His little gang with the Quads, was that a revenge of the Nerds moment? Smoke (darth Vader), is his father? What's with the legion of Biker gods passing judment on who can have a gang, let me guess-The Skulls? I've seen better story lines on WWE Raw. The hero was so whiny I wanted to slap him and take his bike. I remember someone wrote to Cycle world about it, "This movie made me embarassed to be afro-american and a biker it's so bad" That bad...

Torque was entertaining with cool scenery, so long as you're not looking for any realism.

For the old guys, I'll throw in The Great Escape where Steve McQueen jumps the barbwire on the... old Brit bike

Definitely "On Any Sunday" is a classic. There are some other more contemporary movies exclusively about road racing -- "Faster" (covers the transition year in Moto GP from 500's to 990's -- [http://fastermovie.com/ and "The Doctor, the Tornado and the Kentucky Kid" (the Sequel to Faster starring Valentino Rossi, Colin Edwards and Nicky Hayden -- http://www.dtkmovie.com/).

A friend and I were talking about Hopkins in Fastest Indian. Another friend (1/128th Cherokee) overheard and was offended, thinking that we were talking about another token Indian exploitation film.

My vote is for Faster. or Tron.

Definitely "On Any Sunday" for me followed in no particular order by "Easy Rider" then maybe "Take it to the Limit" and "The Right Line" or even the movie of Joey Dunlop riding the big V4 Honda on the Isle of Mann with the on-tank video of 180 mph swoops through famous landmarks. That one isn't a "movie" in the fictional sense but more of a documentary but it's still some great footage.

The Joey Dunlop video at the Isle of Man was called "V for Victory." Another cool movie (again, a documentary) is "One Man's Dream: The John Britten Story" (http://www.niagara.com/~halmar/videos/miscellaneousvideos.htm).

im surprised nobody has brought up cool as ice. the movie where vanilla ice rides a bike(cant remember what it was) in shorts a tank top and no helmet the whole time. lol
