Best lens for close up flower photography? I have a Canon 400D?

Hiya, as above, im looking for a fab lens suitable to creatively advertise flowers and plants with. I currenty have a f/1.4 50mm and a 17-85 in my kit. The lens would be used for fine detail and extreme close up work. Ie: capturing detail in petals

ps:Any hints and tips for a 'starter outer' professional photographer would be greatly appreciated.
 
any "macro" lens, I recommend a telephoto at about 200mm. Be careful of your aparature and try several settings as you experiment.
