best hiking backpack for 3 days?

I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of hiking/camping backpack would be best for a three day camping trip.
Mostly how many liters would be good.

I like external frame pack because it should have a place for a tent and a sleeping bag
Make sure it is big enough for Food;Clothes;Mess Kit;and TP
Water you will want carry easier access but you want to have water purifying tablets to boil water to refill canteen but I have heard of really good water filters for camping as well
