Best Google Talk freeware?

Which program is the best? Does anyone know if your userinfo goes straight through Google's servers or through third party servers first? These are the programs I've found. Any opinions? Before anyone asks... the reason I don't just try them myself is because I don't like giving out my Google password to anyone. Thanks.

MGTalk is a decent alternative. AFAIK, it talks directly to Google's servers. It's free and even better, free software released under the GNU GPL. The next version (currently in closed beta) even improves on the rather clunky UI.
