Interstellar Flames, by Xen Games, is the one of the most recent flight shooting games for the palm os, and also one of the best. You'll take on alien ships of all variety as you blast your way through 12 action packed missions.

I'll start with the graphics because they will be the first thing to amaze you in this game. Your ship casts real shadows, the textures are beautifully rendered. Your ship, along with the enemies are crisp and detailed. You fly right past giant enemy cruisers and you'll be able to make out details on the hull. This isn't suprising as the game advertises itself as having "Texture, mipmapping and particle effects".

The firefights are colorful and intense. Smoke will trail out of your ship as you take damage. As you kill the enemy fighters you can pick up weapons they leave behind including lasers, bombs and more. As you fly over the enemy cruisers you'll have to destroy their radar towers, gun turrets, and launch pads, all while dodging enemy fire. Sound effects are loud and realistic.

You'll use the hardware buttons to navigate your ship. Not only can you bank left and right but you can also do a 360 degree flip. With all the fighting going on, you'll be thankful the developers included an autofire option.

Super graphics, and entertaining gameplay with tons of levels make this one of the best flying shooters for the palm os.
