I want to buy an awesome new flat screen TV. Price range $400-$1,000. I want something 40+ inches. Don't play video games. Just watch a lot of TV and movies. I want the picture quality to look really good, this is very important to me. I watch TV in the light and the dark, usually with the lights dimmed. Something with good sound (surround sound) would be nice. I want the closest thing to an at home theater experience, without buying all the extra theater system speaker kits or Blu ray player (this may come later, but one purchase at a time). I know Plasma, LED, LCD, 3D, Apple, Google TVs are all good for different things...which one would you suggest for my uses? Also, can you recommend a brand/model?

One more thing, I currently have a small flat screen tv that I hate! It's horrible for watching at different viewing angles, like if I am lower than the TV the picture comes out really dark and hard to watch. This is something I must avoid.
