I run a photography tour/tuition business, providing 1/2 day photographic tours of London. I'm planning on starting night time shoots, but want your opinions on what the best tripod to choose would be.
I realize that heavier usually means more stable, but need to trade this off against people having to carry them around for 4 hours or so. In addition, there are cost constraints, so I need to reach the right trade off between the competing demands.
A further consideration is robustness, because these things are going to be knocked about a bit. A few years ago I bought a Manfrotto 785B for my lightweight tripod, but one of the plastic joints sheared.
Any experience/advice is appreciated.
