best cellphone thats NOT apple or microsoft?

Other than the blackberry and iphone what are some good "regular" phones? Is the Sony Ericsson good? if so what other phones are worth looking into? I never hear much about other phones and i know there are just as many awesome phones out there that are better than the bb and iphone.

I don't want to spend $700 on a phone unless a) there won't be a new version within 2 year and b) it is totally worth it. i do listen to a lot of music so expandable memory is a must. really that is my only requirement, expandable memory..
