I've been working @ Best Buy for a little over a year now. I'm a cashier and recently I've been asking if I can join the sales team. I always get the same answer, "I'll let you know when we have an opening."
Well, over the past few months we've had 23 employees quit and half would probably be the sales team. Hell, even the newer cashiers get to do stuff more important than I do! Now, I'm not stupid, I'm actually pretty damn good at selling my "Black Tie Protection." I easily convince customers to get them.
They know I'm good, but they won't give the opportunity?
This is why I'm seriously considering Sears, working on a base pay and commission. If I get the job, I would give Best Buy a two week notice so I don't burn any bridges, but what do you guys think?
I'm kinda being treated like dirt there, but I really do enjoy working with the people there, even the managers! But there's seriously no room for advancement with my position obviously.
I also know that at Best Buy my job is pretty secure, I don't know about Sears, I kinda need a job because I'm paying stuff off right now. So, this is why I need some advice!
