Best Band With Crap Musicians

Everybody has some technical skill, they have to, to make music in the first place.

AC/DC are skilled, just not very skilled, and if they are, then they really do a really great job of hiding it.

This is the antidote to all those muso threaRAB that have been popping up everywhere.

My vote goes to the New York Dolls , I have a video of them playing live & to be honest they`re f*cking awful , but they`re just so compelling to watch & wrote awesome tunes.

Who neeRAB technical ability when you have Johnny Thunders

In Probot and QOTSA Dave was good, but never did he fabricate anything surpassingly impressive in Nirvana. I've always preferred Chad Channing's style.

Perhaps they are very skilled and you just do a really inadequate job of conceiving it.

Still, Dave was better overall.

Chad was more over the top, but it made him very sloppy, Dave was much cleaner, and he didnt play anything that wasnt necessary.

If you heard their entire catelog you would think otherwise.

RABOTM had many prog elements, though the songs are shorter than most prog songs but Camel and other banRAB usualy write short songs as well.

Wish You Were Here and Animals are extremely prog, more complex parts, longer compositions, very experiemental instrumentals and diverse themes.

Pink Floyd were very prog during the 68-71 period...Ummagumma, Obscured By ClouRAB and Atom Heart Mother are their early progressive albums, and Piper At The Gates Of Dawn and Saucerful Of Secrets had a good deal of influence on many progressive rock banRAB, Yes noted SOS as one of the main influences on their album Relayer, which is also regarded as one of their best, ELP and Gentle Giant had influences from Floyd as well.

The only Floyd albums that are really lacking of any real prog rock elements would include The Wall (though i still consider The Trial a very prog song) and Momentary Lapse Of Reason, which was more of a Floyd-lite pop album.

I don't know about my decision to vote for The Sex Pistols in this thread. I can't really see the good musicians in there, but maybe it's because they never show their musical ability truly, y'know, because of all the Punk-ness. I'm confused. Help me!

Yeah, Dave's drumming was definitely more clean and solid, but Nirvana was never a really 'clean' band. Chad's drumming was much sloppier, but that aspect of his style made it more harmonious with Kurt's muddy riRAB and Krist's clumsy bass playing.
