We got a 5lbs bag of apples in our food box I want to make apple crisp for christmas hubby said he doesnt want pie. There are so many recipes out there I am looking for one to serve about 12 or use 10 or so apples the more apples the better but I dont want the stuff coming out my ears just enough for our christmas eve dinner with the step kids and hubby and I's last "quite" christmas dinner before our 7 month old is 19 months next year. My mom is searching for her's but says anymore she just wings it. I need something simple because I have a small kitchen and I am the only one preparing the small meal so simple is better. Thanks a ton
Thats actually the one my mom just sent me she said she just sprinkles cinn on the apples before she puts the topping on since us kids are such big cinn fans!

I use this EVERY time i make apple crisp. i use more apples, i usally fill a 9x13in pang to akmost the top, and sometimes tripple the topping recipe! deliciosu

4 medium tart cooking apples, sliced (4 cups)
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1/2 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Cream or Ice cream, if desired

1. Heat oven to 375ºF. Grease bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan with shortening.
2. Spread apples in pan. In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients except cream until well mixed; sprinkle over apples.
3. Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork. Serve warm with cream.
