Benign Fasciculations Syndrome?

With school done for this year I can feel the stress finally melting away. This past spring I was in hell. In a sense, I became a hypochondriac that has caused me nothing but stress, an empty wallet, and family members who are sick of hearing me complain about something else.

Well, the last thing that had me worried this spring was the start up of uncontrollable muscle twitching. They came out of the blue, and freaked me out. I will admit that ALS was something that was in the back of my mind which probably only worsened the twitching.

With school finally over, the twitching over my body has come down to about 3-4 per hour and range from calves, arms, temple, and I swear at night I felt it in my tongue. At night when I am at rest I can feel them the most. I even begun to have myoclonic jolts which freaked me out. I would be sitting in the couch when all of a sudden my entire bicep would jump.

At first, being the hypochondriac that I am, thought it was a brain tumor or something. I did have a small bout of headaches that would not go away, and the muscle twitching only made a tumor seem more plausible.

So after that rant, does any one know more about Benign Fasciculations Syndrome? What are some of the symptoms?

There is a web site for BFS. I use to visit it when I had the twitches from my health anxiety. I found it very helpful, it gives you the symptoms and there is a forum. I realize now I didn't have BFS, ALS, MS or anything else, just HA. All the best.
