Bench Press problem at different gyms?

Ok this problems has been bothering me for A LONG time. For some reason when I bench at the YMCA back home I can always do about 20lbs more then here at the college rec center, and I CAN"T figure out why. This has happened to me the last few times I went home, & it pisses me off more than I can express in words. I keep think my strength in false & not real.
At 1st I thought their new weights were lighter, however I still did standing barbell curls with the same normal amount of weight. & if it was REALLY that much lighter then shouldn't I have been able to curl more?
Then I measured the bar @ the YMCA -the distance between the wide grip lines is 32in, the close grip lines 15.5 in & the distance between the close grip & wide grip is 8in. VS the bar @ college wide grip-still 32in & the close grip is about the same 15.75in. So then shouldn't their only be a difference with my close grip? Yet I get the 20lb boost to both my close & wide grips. WHY?!!?!? Plz help. I WOULD LOVE to know the reason so maybe I could keep that boost & apply it here @ college.
