Bell TV announced today that all 32 first round and 16 second round match-ups of the NCAA basketball tournament would be available live on Pay Per View.

March Madness is available in HD on channels 386 and 387, and in standard definition on channels 382-385. Residential Bell TV subscribers are able to purchase complete access to the full offering of first and second round March Madness games starting March 17 on channel 349, for the retail price of $19.99.

Bell TV is also offering select double-headers to residential subscribers for $9.99.

mmeh,

I think I will watch them for free online (NCAA is offering them for free) rather than pay 20 bucks.

To each his own I guess. Watching sports in low resolution on a computer monitor is not something I want to do. I imagine $20 to watch in HD will be jumped on by those consumed with March Madness!

On HD you can also invite over some buddies and have some fun with it!

Can someone please tell me if they are seeing channel 387 (MMHD2) in their guide yet? I ordered the package last night and I still don't see this channel listed in my guide.

So can anyone comment on what this package is like yet. I am at work and have yet to see it. Is it clean CBS feeds, or is there other tickers on screen? The package was promoted as theScore having partnered for this, so hoping that it's not theScore feeds with tickers.

I take the afternoons off on this Thursday and Friday every year just to watch these games, and I can't see paying for 2 HD channels when there's already 3 HD channels that for the most part are already showing the more competitive games.
Even with the 2 extra channels there's no guarantee that the pay channels won't just be duplicating the games that are already available.

Baal, I'm not arguing with you. You'd be a fool to sign up for a PPV if the game is already on CBS.

If you read my post, I'm simply saying that I would rather pay $20 to watch many games in HD on a big screen television than watching in a 480 x 270 window (or whatever the exact size is) on a computer monitor.

I"m not telling you to buy it.

If it was so important to me that I took the day off work to watch then I'd spring for $10 to watch it in HD rather than sit in front of a computer monitor, however, as I said in my first note, "to each his own"

If Saving $10 and watching it on the computer is right for you then go for it!

The quality of the stream online has been excellent, great while at work. But if i'm at home, i'd just as soon keep it tuned in to the Score to catch the end of all the games and have pretty much constant coverage of one game or another in HD. If I really want to follow one particular game closely, i could log on to the free coverage that the NCAA is offering.

Paying for it? Not likely.

Oh for sure Hugh, I agree.
If the only options were the PPV or the streaming, then ordering the PPV makes sense.
But with CBS-east, CBS-west, and the Score all already available in HD...... well, if someone really wants to be able to maybe see the 3rd or 4th best game in HD, I guess they'll pay for it.
